From Seto in Setomono

Did you know that the word "setomono", which refers to pottery in general, is derived from Seto City, Aichi Prefecture? About 30 minutes by car from Nagoya city.
This land has high-quality raw materials, and the efforts and techniques of potters who have been nurtured.

Lid-Cup is made by a kiln shop founded in 1953 in Seto City.
It is an old-fashioned way of making that involves human hands in many processes.
I paint with screen printing, which is rare these days.
